How to Use Basketball Scoreboard
Complete guide to mastering the scoreboard in minutes
🚀Getting Started
Open the Scoreboard
Navigate to the main page. The scoreboard is ready to use immediately - no account required.
Set Your Teams
Click the Settings (⚙️) button to customize team names and colors. The default is HOME vs AWAY.
Choose Your Rules
Select FIBA, NBA, NCAA, or 3x3 rules. This automatically sets quarter length, shot clock, and foul limits.
🏀Scoring Points
Using Buttons
Click +1, +2, or +3 buttons under each team to add points. Use -1 to correct mistakes.
Using Keyboard (Faster!)
Press 1, 2, 3 for home team points. Press 7, 8, 9 for away team points. Hold Shift + number to subtract.
⏱️Managing the Timer
Start/Stop
Click the green Start button or press Spacebar to toggle the game timer.
Shot Clock
Click 24 to reset shot clock fully, or 14 for offensive rebound reset. Keyboard: R (24s) or Shift+R (14s).
Period Changes
When time expires, click "Period →" to advance to the next quarter. Fouls reset automatically.
🟡Tracking Fouls
Add Team Fouls
Click "Foul" under the team, or press F (home) / Shift+F (away) on keyboard.
Bonus Indicators
The foul dots fill up. Yellow "BONUS" appears when the team is in penalty. Watch for this to award free throws!
Player Fouls
Click "Player Stats" to track individual player fouls. Players with 5+ fouls are highlighted red.
⏸️Timeouts & Possession
Call Timeout
Click "Timeout" button or press T (home) / Shift+T (away). Timer automatically pauses.
Track Possession
Click ◄► under a team to show possession arrow, or press Q (home) / W (away) / P (toggle).
🔗Share & Sync
Start Hosting
Click the Share button, then "Start Hosting" to get a 6-digit game code. Share this code with others.
Share View-Only Link
Copy the View-Only Link and send it to spectators. They can watch the live score without affecting the game.
Join a Game
Enter the 6-digit game code to join as a viewer or assistant scorekeeper.
Stop Hosting
Click "Stop Hosting" when you want to end the sharing session and return to local-only mode.
📊Export
Export as Image
Click Export and choose PNG or JPG to download a screenshot of the current game state.
Export PDF Report
Generate a comprehensive PDF report with full game statistics, player performance, and scoring timeline.
Export Game Data
Download the complete game data in JSON format for backup or analysis purposes.
Copy Statistics
One-click copy of text-formatted game statistics to paste into messages or documents.
⚡Advanced Features
Fullscreen Mode
Press Escape or click the fullscreen button. Perfect for projecting on a big screen.
Player Statistics
Click "Player Stats" to track points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, and turnovers per player.
OBS Streaming
Copy the OBS link to add a transparent scoreboard overlay to your live stream.
Offline Mode
The app works without internet! Install it as a PWA for the best experience.
